He loves God and puts God , me and family first. He would never ever consider divorce and would go to marriage couseling every week if we were having problems. Also before we got married he would go to a pre-marriage couseling session for a month to make sure we would never divorce and are doing the right thing.

Good for you sweetie. If you start off with someone who already has a relationship with God or at least wants that, you are WAY ahead of the game. Can someone be brought to God if they aren’t already? Absolutely. But there are some that refuse to believe and that can be a heartbreaking situation.
There are too many people, young and…NOT so young, that go into a marriage completely blind as to what work and effort goes into a lifelong relationship. I think pre-marrital counseling allows the couple a chance to deal with important issues that could end up as “deal breakers” later on down the line. I think everyone should be required to do this before they are allowed to get married. Worse case scenario, if you find out that this is not really the man of your dreams, it’s best to find out before a few years and a child or two get thrown into the equasion, you know?
